Frayed Knot Loot Policy (Updated 8/26/10) (submitted by Morrne at 10:19am CST) ~ Welcome to the Frayed Knot Auction System and Loot Policy ~ The most current form of the Auction and Loot Policy is kept (HERE). This area is restricted to members and recruits. Section I - Auction Channel and Auction Etiquette: The Loot Council (LC) conducts the bidding for items in an auction channel. Keep this channel in your list of Auto-joins. This channel is NOT for chatting. It is only to be used for the placing of bids, and other business as required by the LC. All items for bid will be linked in this channel individually for bidding, even duplicate items. If you have questions that needs to be addressed by the LC, send a /tell to a member of the LC that is not hosting the auction. Section II – The Auction Frayed Knot utilizes an open Dragon Kill Point (DKP) and loot award system. Each item is given a minimum and maximum value. You must be present for the kill to be eligible to bid. Bidding occurs in two phases – 1. Main Auction, where members and recruits bid to obtain new items, and when no eligible mains bid for the loot, 2. The Rot Phase – Inactive mains and mains in the behalf of alts express interest in the loot. Loot awards follow this chain of priority: Mains > alts > inactive mains. Order of Events: 1. Beat the Big Bad Boss. 2. Member of the LC links all loots dropped in /rsay. 3. Begin Main Auction a. LC announces an item for bid in the auction channel, including min and max bid values. b. Members and Recruits bid on linked item. c. LC closes the auction. d. LC announces the winner of the auction and the DKP cost. 4. If no mains bid during the Main Auction – Begin Rot Phase a. LC announces that the item is eligible for Alts. Please express interest. b. Members express interest for their alts. c. LC closes the Rot Phase. d. LC announces the winner of the item, at the minimum cost of the item. 5. Repeat 3-4 for all loots. Notes about the Main Auction 1. Hosting LC officer starts and closes the bidding. 2. Auction is mains only. 3. Minimum is the lowest possible bid. 4. Maximum is the highest possible bid. 5. Multiple people can place a Max bid. Whoever has the highest DKP total will be awarded the item. 6. If multiple people place the same bid, the first person to place the bid will win. The second bidder must increase the bid in order to continue the auction. 7. Correct typos immediately and don't joke in the auction channel during auctions. a. Example Member A tells (auction channel) “4450” Member A tells (auction channel) “typo 450” 8. If a bid is placed at the same time that the LC closes the bid, the hosting LC may reopen the auction at their discretion. 9. Any member of the LC may suspend bids at any time for any reason. The Hosting LC will announce the reopening of bids. Notes about the Rot Phase 1. Identify yourself after LC asks who is interested in the rotting item. 2. Highest DKP total of those identified wins. 3. The winner is charged the min DKP price of the item to their main. 4. If there is no interest for alts, the item will be looted and destroyed by a member of the LC. 5. You must be able to get your alt to the loot in a timely fashion. If you are unable to loot the item, the LC is not obligated to refund the lost DKP. Section III – Guidelines – Da’ Loot Rulez 1. No member will bid on any item that he or she cannot use because of level restrictions / class / deity / race. Bids placed for unusable items will not be considered, and could result in a penalty. 2. Lovingly referred to as the Dannis Rule - No member shall be allowed to bid on a second item from the same boss to which they have alrewady won an item, unless the second item is rotting. 3. Each member is responsible for earning and spending their own points. There is NO deficit spending. In order for your attendance to be properly recorded, you must NOT be /roleplay or /anon during raids. Totals can be checked at anytime on the loot site and any errors that may be found should be directed to any member of the LC, or posted in the appropriate section of the boards. 4. Once you are a member, in order to maintain Active status, you must attend at least 1 raid per a 30-day period to be eligible for loots. If you go Inactive, you must attend at least 6 raids to return to Active status. 5. If you arrive late or leave early from a raid, you must be present for at least 80% of the event to receive DKP. Logs will be taken at intervals during the raid period to be entered into the system. The LC is not obligated to award you DKP for questionable attendance/participation. 6. All items start at the MINIMUM price and will be bid on from that point until the MAXIMUM price has been reached. It is entirely possible that an item that sells for minimum on one date will go for maximum on the next. 7. Zone wide augments/items may be either handled as ordinary loot, or set up as a random roll depending on the rarity of the item. You may only receive one per night. 8. No member of the LC will ever host an item they wish to bid on, and will pass the hosting duty to another member of the LC who will not be bidding on the item. 9. You are expected to bring your main on raids unless given permission to leave your main behind by an officer/leader. Unless an alt is specifically requested, not merely Okay-ed by a raid leader, you will NOT earn DKP if your main is not present for a raid. 10. Should you be allowed to bring a secondary character on a raid, and the need arises to give the spot to a main, you may be asked to drop the secondary character to make room for the incoming main character. 11. A very small number of items will not be distributed via DKP bidding. These items are almost always raid flag keys, quest items required for gaining access to raids, AE blockers, and on very rare occasion special loot exemptions. These items are handled by officers and are usually given out based on attendance, current progress on a quest, or items so rare that the guild leadership deems them too important to permit completely open bidding (this only happened once in the last 4 years). 12. The Ever Powerful Nufan Rule – One shall not link old gear of less than half the caliber of the new item awarded. To do so may result in bleeding eyes, mass hysteria and prolonged entertainment by the members of Frayed Knot. Instead, please excitedly and politely link your newly augmented items in appreciation. Section IV – Earning DKP DKP is awarded per raid. Generally, around 50 DKP will be earned in an evening of raids. The newest events that we have yet to win yield the highest DKP values. First time wins also result in a bonus. Current farm targets for gearing up yield from 15-20 DKP each. Raids that have had long term farm status, and some augment events will yield 10 DKP. An active recruit will typically receive an item or two every week if they are going for loots from our current farm targets. Earning DKP – 1. Raid, Raid, RAID, then raid some more. 2. Recruiting a friend via the Find a Friend program. 3. As a recruit, when you are voted into the guild as a probationary member you will received a DKP bonus based on your attendance. a. For passing the vote, you get a bonus of 100 DKP. b. If your attendance exceeds 60%, you will receive an additional 100 DKP, or 200 DKP total. c. If your attendance exceeds 80%, you will receive an additional 100 DKP (to the 60% attendance level) or 300 DKP total. 4. When a level increase expansion comes out, sometimes a bonus will be offered for reaching the maximum level within a set time period. Section V - Penalties While penalties aren't the nicest of subjects, they are required in case of unacceptable actions taken by an individual to protect the rights of others and to correct inappropriate behavior. No penalty should ever be taken lightly. While we understand and accept innocent mistakes, we do not tolerate habitual misconduct, or malicious, greedy, or abusive use of the system. Innocent mistakes are dealt with quickly, and generally do not involve any kind of punishment. Infractions are usually dealt with DKP deductions. Continued misconduct may result in guild removal. Penalty List: 1. Looting of items that were not awarded. a. In the event of an improper looting of an item, the offending party must /petition to SOE for the removal of the mis-looted item, and to have it transferred to the proper owner. The item must NOT be equipped or augmented in anyway. This procedure may require the forwarding of Emails to officers, links or posts of all the applicable information to guarantee fair play. Failure to do so will result in a formal penalty. 2. Interfering with a raid event. 3. Continuous raid errors. 4. Bidding on unusable items. 5. Spamming or playing around in the auction during a bid. Registering (submitted by Morrne at 08:46pm CST) Yes, you are required to have a user account to view the DKP site. This has been done for security reasons. However, if you log in and select the Remember Me box, you will not have to log in again unless you are blocking cookies. If you like the ability to spend DKP, I suggest you make an account. When you are registering with the site, please make sure that your User name is your character name. (Do not use your character name as your password please.) Loot Council will not be guessing whose character is UberTank@somemailservice.com. PM Majique, Saedian, Kiras or Scyt on the boards when you have completed the registration so that one of us can activate your account. You cannot self activate. Seems a few did not see this news article, so I bumped it. If I don't know who you are, I will not activate you. You must send me a pm on the forums or a tell in game for activation. |

ALTS IN RAIDS (submitted by Morrne at 03:45am CST) ALTS CHARACTERS IN RAIDS If you are bringing an alt to a raid it is required that the alt is /anon, not /role but /anon. LC is having to manually delete alt characters almost every day, and it is causing more work for them than required. Please be considerate, or you will be receiving a tell asking you to do so. |

Character Connections (submitted by Morrne at 04:16am CST) If you have not done so, or could not until recently see the tab, please take a moment and use the Settings tab to Manage Characters to connect (or "Link") your character name to your account. This helps keep things organized for the Loot Council and will greatly be appreciated. For those new to the site, feel free to create a profile there if you so wish; although, creating a profile is not required. Some characters have been linked already, and I am going through trying to double check, but take a moment and check for yourselves please. Again, be kind to your LC Officers and link your Character Name to your account, please. |

Updates / Upgrades (submitted by Morrne at 05:02pm CST) We have moved the DKP site from the old server to this server. This was done because the old site was coming down within a month. This move will allow us more control over the site itself, and obviously already allowed several upgrades to be installed. I will list them here: -- Colors / Styles: - The colors of the default site are now more in line with the forums, and adjustments were made to make reading easier for everyone. - To change your Style, select the Settings tab, click Basic and scroll down to select from the available styles. - You will also notice that there is now a guild logo instead of the default EQDKP logo. -- Item Stats: - The Item Values and Item History tabs will still show all of the old information (who bought what / when / where / how much); however, you may now click on the item itself to see the item's stats. - The Item Stats tab can be used to search for specific items. Notes: On the Item Stats tab, the drop down menus only support up to Omens of War and the Spells by Class are completely non-functional. You can however search items by class or search for items by name (if you know it). - I have added 58,490 items into the database and 26,390 spells. It is current up to the The Buried Sea expansion, although the newest items may or may not be in the database. Note: Although you cannot search for spells yet, should an item have a spell effect you can click the effect to view the spell effects. Also, if you know the spell name, you can search for it on the Item Stats tab by manually searching for the spell. -- Attendance: - This tab makes viewing attendance just a few clicks away. Formerly, seeing all the information was more trouble than it was worth and non-customizable. The Attendance tab allows you to select the time periods you wish to see and breaks the info down neatly. -- Profiles: - This allows the account owner to bind their own character to their account. Click the Settings tab and select Character Manager. From there you may edit your profile or bind your character (if it isn't already like most). Note: While this feature can be restricted to Everquest only, I added some features to allow more information to be added by the user such as skills or notes. Obviously with all the features turned on, several options for different platforms become available. I chose to allow these cutomizations to give user the full use of the profile tab. - Clicking the Profile tab shows a list of all members and allows all profiles to be viewed by simply clicking on the member you wish to view. Edit: -Updated the ability of users to record their resistences on the profile, with the exception of the Corruption resist. -Allowed users the ability to create their own prolie note, like the public note in the guild manager. -Allowed Users to add characters to their account. This will allow you to create profiles for your alts without worry of them affecting the dkp system. |
